On World AIDS Day, the NYC AIDS Memorial launched its Arts and Education Initiative, with an interactive art experience, created in collaboration with artist Jenny Holzer. The event included a fleet of five trucks emblazoned with LED signs that journeyed through the city displaying a series of quotes that convey the impact, history, and ongoing battle against the AIDS epidemic worldwide. Following that dusk event, the American Run for the End of AIDS, Gay Men’s Health Crisis, and the International AIDS Prevention Initiative hosted the 27th “Out of the Darkness World AIDS Day Candlelight Vigil and Gathering,” also at the NYC AIDS Memorial.
