NEW YORK DAILY NEWS: World AIDS Day turns 35: How to commemorate the date in NYC

Starting at 10 a.m., the New York City AIDS Memorial will lead an eight-hour reading of the names of New Yorkers whose lives were cut short by AIDS.  From 4 to 6 p.m., the volunteer-run group Queer Soup Night will provide food to AIDS Day attendees, offering delicious creations by New York chefs, made with fresh produce donated by Farm to People. At 6 p.m., attendees can take part in the 32nd annual Out of the Darkness World AIDS Day candlelight vigil. The programming concludes at 6:30 p.m. with a performance described as “documentary theater that incorporates song, found text and devised choreography,” featuring a company of countertenors and actors, the music of Mozart, and text by the late playwright Larry Kramer.
